APURIMAC RIVER 3 DAYS / 2 NOCHES

This exciting whitewater rafting expedition is rated among the best of world.  We start our trip from Cusco (3400m altitude) and drive 4 hours across the Andes down to the Apurimac River (2000m).  In the native Quechua language “Apurimac” means “Speaker of the Gods”.  This river is also the most direct source of the Amazon making it the longest river in the world.
We mostly run class III+ and IV rapids, and there are also some class V.  Some of the rapids are too dangerous, and the passengers must portage on shore while the guides navigate the empty boats.  At night we camp on pristine beaches.  All the meals are included and prepared by the guides over a campfire.  Among the wildlife in this remote and isolated canyon we sometimes see river otters, bob cats, foxes, torrent ducks, cormorants, etc.
